Parkland International Language School  Summer 2012

                The Complete Summer School Experience!

Please read this information carefully.
The costs of the course consist of:

• The basic course fee
• Airport transfer charges according to airport used
• Any additional charges according to the extras chosen

Please note that we are only able to offer courses to 11-17 year olds who have studied English for at least one year.

Our comprehensive language course packages include...

• Two 75 minute lessons and one 50 minute lesson per day, Mondays to Fridays inclusive*
• Opportunities for additional conversation practice with British students, free of charge.
• Full board and lodging in college residential accommodation
• Full programmes of sports and other leisure activities, mostly free of charge, in the spacious school grounds. Modern heated indoor swimming pool, sports centre, tennis courts and other facilities.
• Evening entertainment programme: discos, 'rhythmic riot' sessions, circus skills training, concerts, international evening, fun and games evening, quizes and other activities.
• Full day excursions on Saturdays and Sundays (except arrival and departure days)
• Half day excursions on Wednesdays
• Initial medical care, 24/7,with qualified residential Course nurse
• Washing of machine-washable clothes
• Use of textbook and stationery, presented in special study file
• End-of-course certificate and copy of school magazine.

* Excluding time required for tests.
 

Airport Transfers

Parkland representatives will meet students arriving at any of the following airports and escort them to Ampleforth College:

• London Heathrow (380km from Ampleforth)
• London Gatwick (440km from Ampleforth)
• Leeds-Bradford (75km from Ampleforth) Please note that there are flights to and from this airport to and from many European destinations.

Our representatives will wait at the Information Desk in the Arrivals Hall. Students will see the Parkland sign and their own name on the sign. Parkland representative will escort students to the same airports when they finish their course. Students will receive assistance with their check-in and will be accompanied to the customs and security gates.

The following charges apply:

STANDARD TRANSFER SERVICE

Standard transfer service to or from the airport, normally by coach or executive car at Parkland's discretion:

PREMIUM TRANSFER SERVICE

Parents are strongly urged to arrange flights that fall within the times given above.

However, individual transfers can be provided through our premium service at other times. Charges are per vehicle:

To/From London Heathrow or London Gatwick: £375 one way

To/From London Stansted at any time: £375 one way

NOTES

1. Where students' transfer arrangements require an Ampleforth arrival or departure between midnight and 06.30 an administration charge of £50 will be applied.
2. Where parents have requested airline young passenger assistance for their son or daughter this requires the Parkland representative to stay in the airport until the plane has left. A charge of £40 will be made for this additional service.

Extras

Payment is not required at the time of completion of the application form. Please wait for an invoice requesting payment of a £300 deposit. You will also receive a supplementary form on which you specify airport transfer requests and any extras required. The supplementary form does not need to be returned until six weeks before the commencement of the course. You will then receive a final invoice with instructions for payment.

If you are applying after May 15th 2012 you will receive the supplementary form and be asked to complete it within 3 days so that your full invoice can be prepared.
