A message from John and Isabel Allinson

It is now 27 years since we began to offer our residentia
l English Language summer courses to young people. Thousands of students from all over the world have enjoyed Parkland courses, and as each year has gone by we have never forgotten the original principles which have underpinned the success of our business. We have always aimed to offer top quality residential courses at reasonable prices. We hope the comments from recent clients that you can find in our brochure and here on our website will help you understand our aims – and the extent to which we achieve them!
Our rewards go far beyond the financial. It is a privilege to welcome so many young people to our country and to help them benefit in so many ways from the opportunities they have been given. The atmosphere of international friendship has been pure magic!
By maintaining the highest standards of lessons, activities, entertainment and excursions we believe we offer a first class summer school experience. But there is one thing that is even more important – we have always promised parents that we will take good care of their sons and daughters. This means that their safety and welfare is of paramount importance to us. We never forget that parents place enormous trust in us when they send their sons and daughters to our summer school.
Our host school, the prestigious Ampleforth College, is extraordinarily well equipped, especially in terms of its accommodation and leisure facilities. This superb English boarding school is an ideal place to offer a residential language school for young people. It is also in a splendid location for excursions, and that is why we have included an exceptionally generous number of excursions in our programme. It is in the North of England, a part of the country which is renowned for its stupendously beautiful scenery…. and for the friendliness of its people.
Students who feel they can’t leave England without visiting London will not be disappointed – there is an optional day trip to the capital. Similarly, there are opportunities to visit Edinburgh, Scotland’s beautiful capital city, full of cultural and historic interest.
As in previous years, we will be personally responsible for the management of the course, and will be assisted by a strong team of colleagues, including members of our own family.

Where is Parkland International Language School?
Parkland International Language School operates in the beautiful parkland setting of Ampleforth College, near York.
There are flights from many countries to the local Leeds/Bradford Airport.
We offer airport transfer services from Leeds and London.

First class accommodation
The beautiful parkland setting 
offers a congenial and relaxing environment in which to live and learn. The residential buildings are only a few minutes walk from the classrooms. They are quite modern and very well equipped. They are cleaned and maintained meticulously every day.
Most students are accommodated in singles or double rooms. Specific room requests can be made on the booking form.
The expert catering staff ensure that a mixture of traditional British cooking and more continental dishes are served, all to a very high standard. Students'
machine-washable clothes are laundered free of charge.
